Last week (October 9) we announced details of our latest live venture: SighTracked Presents… This Is Not A Rave at Proud Camden in London. The first night sees a special performance from godfather of Grime Wiley as well as appearances from Bashment specialists The Heatwave, CJ Beatz and DJ Swerve. But we couldn’t stop there…
We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ve added DEVolution, house specialist Funk Butcher and Bang FM’s Ralph Hardy to the line up!
Production duo Pete Devereux and Tom Devos, better known as DEVolution describe their music as “Garage-infused house. Full Stop.” It’s a mixture of influences deriving from an electronic music background to produce a unique sound that only they can create. The pair released their debut single Good Love in September 2011 and have provided remixes for the likes of Wiley, Stooshe and Rebecca Ferguson. For 2013 onwards, the focus turns solely to DEVolution as they prepare to release their new EP Transition in the coming months.
You can get a good idea of what you’re likely to hear on Funk Butcher’s Rinse FM show through its given name: Houseology 101 (which also happens to be the name of his label.) For two hours each week, he joins the dots between different variations on house music, reaching all the way from classic New York and Chicago-sounding tunes to sub-heavy, funky jack tracks, and the current UK wave of slinky, garage-influenced tech house. It’s all bound together by its fluidity, keen ear for melody and compulsive forward momentum.
Ralph Hardy is one of the UK’s emerging niche vibe DJ’s better known for his unique, quirky personality in front of the camera on SBTV and behind words in RWD Mag. His eclectic ear and strong passion for the arts has taken him near and far. You can catch him on BANG Radio every Saturday 1-4pm.
